Comprehensive adult and pediatric ophthalmologist Elena Nguyen, MD, offers quality eye care personalized to each patient’s needs, including new glasses, dry eye therapy, cataract surgery, and double vision and glaucoma treatments. Dr. Nguyen (pronounced “win”) was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She graduated summa cum laude with honors from the Program for the Exceptionally Gifted (PEG) at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia. Dr. Nguyen earned her medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia, where she also completed her internship and residency in ophthalmology. For her pediatric ophthalmology fellowship, Dr. Nguyen trained at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, named by US News and World Report as one of America’s best. At ENvision Eye Care, Dr. Nguyen manages a comprehensive range of conditions, including chalazia and styes, allergic and vernal conjunctivitis, diplopia, blocked tear ducts, amblyopia, progressive myopia, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and ocular trauma. Dr. Nguyen is particularly interested in cataract and strabismus surgery and is one of the only pediatric ophthalmologists and strabismus specialists in the area. To better serve her patients, Dr. Nguyen speaks English and Vietnamese. Dr. Nguyen enjoys being with her partner and their three cats outside of the office.
